The kea, an endangered species, is celebrated for its inquisitive nature, energetically exploring and engaging with its surroundings. This delightful bird, the sole alpine parrot worldwide, resides in the Southern Alps of New Zealand's South Island – the exact location of our initial encounter. Our story took place on the Kepler Track, one of New Zealand's Great Walks. After a gruelling 20-kilometre trek and a 1,000-metre ascent on the second day, we reached the last stopover: Hanging Valley Shelter, exhausted.
It was there that we encountered a group of kea. As we descended, this curious bunch kept following us, and at a turn, our paths crossed again. One of the kea held a white daisy in its beak looking at us, as if offering a welcoming smile. This delightful gesture made our weary journey much easier. The unique moment warmly lingers in our memories, inspiring us to capture it in our logo.
